Petite Fleur Blanc is made from Viognier grapes grown on the cool, granite terroirs of the Beaujolais region. It draws on a fine natural acidity balanced by the roundness and voluptuousness produced by vinification and ageing in amphora on lees. This is an airy wine with bewitching citrus fruit and orange blossom aromas.

TASTING NOTES: A luminous colour with golden highlights and an intense nose of citrus fruit and flowers. The wine is delicate on the palate, with a fine balance between the natural tension of a Viognier grown in our climate and the roundness brought out by ageing on the lees in amphora.

WINE AND FOOD Pairings: Petite Fleur Blanc goes perfectly with French summer cuisine: ratatouille with a drizzle of cold pressed olive oil or grilled aubergines with Parmesan. Viognier also goes well with pan-fried scallops in citrus butter and grapefruit carpaccio.

The Château des Bachelards vineyard was created by the Benedictine monks of Cluny around 1100. Today, it extends over 18 hectares, all of which are farmed organically and biodynamically, in keeping with this monastic heritage. The absence of chemicals in the soil for 17 years and the use of biodynamic practices allow the terroirs to express themselves fully in the wines of Les Bachelards.

It draws on a fine natural acidity balanced by the roundness and voluptuousness produced by vinification and ageing in amphora on lees.
